As the largest providers of vCreate in the UK, we are delighted to provide this service, with the support of Infinity Digital to four neonatal units in the North east.

Launched on our first birthday, we wanted to celebrate by giving something back to our families and ensuring they knew how passionate we were about caring for them.

vCreate is now live in The James Cook University Hospital NICU and by the end of 2019, it will be in Darlington Memorial, North Durham and Sunderland neonatal units.

What does this mean for parents? Well, many families in our region move from the James Cook Neonatal Unit which provides life-saving treatment to either Darlington, Durham or Sunderland. For us to be able to provide vCreate on these units means parents transferring across these wards can take their vCreate service with them by a simple flick of a digital switch.

This means we will support more than 1,300 families with this service.

Newcastle’s RVI also provides the vCreate service through Tiny Lives, which means when families are transferred there for intensive or surgical care from one of the four neonatal units we look after – their journey can also continue.

vCreate is a secure picture and video messaging service which allows neonatal staff to take videos and photos of baby to send updates when parents can’t be there.

Once the parents leave the neonatal unit, they will be able to download the online diary to keep forever.
