Pregnancy Relaxation Support

At Leo’s, our highly qualified mentors offer a specialised Pregnancy Relaxation service.

It is only natural for expectant mothers to feel overwhelmed at times, especially during a high-risk pregnancy.

The relaxation techniques support the connection between mother and baby, even before baby arrives. What we know is that bonding starts from conception continues in pregnancy and can shape connection at birth and beyond (1001 Critical Days Movement).

Feelings of anxiety or revisiting trauma can become more prominent as the pregnancy progresses.

The relaxation sessions show the mother new methods of coping with stress and are an add on to traditional talking support.
They allow the important “me time” and “time out” form problems, difficulties and responsibilities.

This provides the body with a rest from the effects of stress. Pregnancy relaxation methods help to produce the chemical Oxytocin. Oxytocin is so important in pregnancy, birth, parenthood and life. It is a key relaxation hormone and also the hormone associated with bonding, love and mothering.

During the training our mentors undertook, mothers have told us that pregnancy relaxation sessions have allowed them to take time to focus on the babies’ movements and responses. This wonderful experience can be shared to promote positive feelings about parenthood.
