Ellen Campbell – Illustrator

Hi, I’m Ellen and I’m currently studying BA (Hons) Photography at Manchester School of Art. I co-curated my first public exhibition ‘Insight’ alongside my peers in MSoA, the exhibition included installation and video alongside my self-titled ongoing documentary project ‘Deux’ shot entirely on 35mm analogue. My collection of work in the exhibition made reference to the “coupling and symbiosis in the physicality and formality of human connection of intimate, familial, and ‘in-between’ relations.” that “challenges the traditional relationship between photographer and subject through framed photographs and personal objects”. I’m a visual artist, passionate in both film and cinematography as art forms; crediting world cinema’s Emmanuel Lubezski and Martin Scorsese for my interest. I love line drawing and watercolour painting in my spare time and I can often be found re-creating characters from familiar stories from her childhood for my family.
