Sue Westwood – Holistic Therapist and Nutrionist

My life experience of  being a wife, a parent of three gorgeous girls, Nannie of three adorable grandchildren,  I have witnessed that juggling home, work, study and life can be challenging. These challenges can display in various forms, such as emotional, physical and mental stresses.  Often creeping up without any warning. Fatigue, stress, low mood, burn out and physical aches and pains were very common. That brought me to a realisation of a need to change my lifestyle.  This triggered a curiosity to try to bring balance to my body and mind.

My background includes 16 year’s experience within the NHS, exploring various roles, both clinical and clerical. From this I have witnessed how our attitude and understanding to health and wellbeing can create choosing incorrect food options, leading to ill health and disease. These factors are having a global effect resulting in increased trends in diseases such as, obesity and diabetes, and stress related illness, which is a  serious public health concern.

This inspired my passion for helping people, which ultimately lead onto my journey of Reiki, health & nutrition.  I have always believed in alternative approaches to life. And that getting to the root cause of any imbalance will offer a greater chance of optimal health & wellbeing. So, let’s talk a little about Reiki, my personal exploration with Reiki began quite by chance – I received a treatment during a stressful time, and it worked! “It” being Reiki – I didn’t quite understand how it worked, I just knew instantly it did. This inspired and confirmed the power of the mind & body which in my experience, empowered me to strive to live my dreams and desires, and flow with life challenges both personally and professionally. I have proudly achieved a Diploma in Diabetic retinopathy, Diploma in access to Health, CNHC registered Reiki 1, 2 and Master level and BSc (Hons) in Nutritional science and I am the proud owner of Equilibrium in Life, mental health & Wellbeing. www.equilinlife.co.uk  I am embracing life with an understanding that you can achieve anything if you have the balance with your mind and body.

From my various life skills and experiences, I can now help people balance their lives too!
